Icelandic Women Attorneys Association
The Icelandic Women Attorneys Association (FKL - Félag kvenna í lögmennsku) was founded on March 4th, 2004, and is open for women members of the Icelandic Bar Association. The founding members were about 70 women attorneys.
The association aims to strengthen the position of women in the law practice, make women as attorneys more visible in society and within the legal field, encourage and be role models for younger women graduating from university interested in making their career in the law practice and networking for women working in the law practice.
Members of the board are 7. There were about 10 women who initiated, prepared, and arranged for the establishment of the association, beginning in October 2003.
FKL is a member society of the Service Department of the Icelandic Bar Association.
